IN CHARACTER INFORMATION
Name: Yarne
Canon: Fire Emblem Awakening
OU/AU/OC: OU
Canon Point: Post Chapter 23
History: Game canon and Character canon For canon purposes, his father is Lon’qu, another unit in the army.
Personality:
Yarne comes from an alternate future where the world is in constant war. With his parents perished from the war, he was the last living being with Taguel blood. Because of that, he must deal with the pressure to survive and carry on. He developed a fear of dying and doesn’t want to be remembered as the “fool who allowed his race to die.”
Such paranoia regarding his existence in general even made him doubt his own father at one point. He had a train of thought if his father, Lon’qu, cheated on his mother, he would never be born. It even resulted in him following around his father to make sure he didn’t stray. At first Lon’qu found the very idea ridiculous because she was the only female he felt comfortable with despite his gynophobia. He was able to put two and two together after an argument with his son. Turns out in Yarne’s past, he promised to come back for him one day but didn’t and that memory left not the greatest impression. While Yarne was a version of his child from an alternate timeline, he loves his son and his wife regardless, and made a promise to survive and to stay with his mother.
It was common to see Yarne trying to run from battles halfway through. Even though he does have that tendency to run, he does want to do what’s right. He has shown his battle strength when he’s pushed into a corner. Some of his maneuvers saved other characters’ lives.
This explains why he hasn’t deserted the other characters, including his own mother. In his interactions with Cynthia, another child from the same timeline, he expresses his desire to do good and fight. Over time, he does build his confidence, shows his growth in battle, and even got a hero nickname from the local children.
Because both his parents died when he was still small, he was unaware of Taguel tradition but it helped to provide a way for him and his mother Panne to bond. They try to build their own customs since neither could remember what they were. It helps him to realize they’re carrying more than just the Taguel blood but their spirit is right. It strengthens his resolve.
Strengths:
-Superhearing
-Superhuman strength
-kind spirit
-he wants to do what’s right
-swordsmanship
-shapeshifting ability between his normal form and his beast form (will be downgraded to a normal sized rabbit)
Weaknesses:
-Cowardice
-Carrots (His favorite food and can be easily bribed with them)
-Has the loudest voice in the army
-Hates being called a bunny and treated as a pet
Possessions: He’ll bring in Beaststones, which allow him to shapeshift between his normal form and histaguel bunny form.
Pony/Animal Type: Earth pony.
Cutie Mark: A dark brown rabbit with black-tipped ears.
Pony Picture: It will be up eventually. I promise.

First Person:
[He’s given up on writing with hooves and started to fumble with the magic scroll, which starts recording the video.]
I’ve seen scrolls before but nothing like this. HELLO? Mother? Father? Lucina? ...Anyone? Maybe I am the only one here, but at least it’s peaceful.
[He sighs but sees something on the ground and ducks his head off screen.]
Hm? Oh, I still have my beaststone? I wonder...
[A bright light surround him for a second and fades away. At first, it looks like Yarne vanished but two chocolate brown bunny ears can be seen. A shriek follows and paper falls to get a better view of a bunny.]
Noooooo!! Wh-what?! I’m supposed to be much bigger! Where’s my big sharp pointy teeth?! I’m a Taguel not some house pet!
Third Person:
Once the shock and disorientation of arriving in this Equesteria place went away, Yarne took things rather well. After all, there wasn’t a threat of war and death looming over his head. No more living under the fear of extinction. Sure being stuck as a pony wasn’t the best case scenario, but he could live with it.
He only wished his parents and friends were here. There were plenty of carrots to share with his mother. His father along with his friends’ parents could make a living here and they could all get their greatest wish: more time to be a family.
The only drawback was while he could change forms, his rabbit form took a more...domesticated look. He was no longer this huge rabbit that could easily loom over a grown man. Instead he turned into a regular size chocolate brown rabbit but at least he could talk and retained his strength and hearing.
He was on the outskirts of Ponyville, taking in the sunshine when his ears perked up to a sound. A commotion of some sort from what he could tell. He was about ignore it when he picked up what sounded like crying. He couldn’t ignore that, he galloped his way to the source. A young colt was being bullied by two bigger ones. Yarne jumped in between the two parties.
“Hold on! Why are you two picking on him?” The colt hid behind Yarne.
The bullies snorted and one of them spoke up, ”None of your business so get lost. Unless you wanna make something out of it.” They both went into a more intimidating pose.
That turned out well. Yarne gulped and then eyed the colt that was attacked. He could see the bruises that he had. He glared back at them and stood his ground. “You have no right bullying anyone! Alright fine, I’m gonna warn you right now, don’t mess with the bunny!” The beaststone around his neck glowed and he was in his rabbit form. That only made them laugh even harder until there was tears in their eyes. Yarne didn’t back down and instead gave each of them a headbutt that sent them flying back a few feet. The bullies got up and snorted as they walked away.
Yarne turned his attention to the little one and gave him a smile. “Thank you mister!”
“Anytime, kid. Just be careful, alright?” The colt gave a nod and ran off. Yarne, being quite happy with himself, changed back to his pony form and walked towards the market. “I think this calls for some carrots!”
